Hi everyone! My name is Nora Begoña and my children have recently entitled me with Myst Nora.Let me tell you why:I have been working with movies for the first part of the year and for the second one I decided to work with commercial videos games. I had many ideas but none of them were what I really wanted till I came across an English teacher, Tim Rylands, who had been working with the Myst series for a long time.I really liked the way he used the game and I decided to carry out the project with my 6th year students. The first disadvantage I had to face, in contrast with Tim's students, was that they have English as their mother tongue and mine as a foreign language. So I had to teach them new vocabulary to give them tools to write. The first day we started exploring the game, was a sort of a chaos, just three words they uttered:click, right, left, move. I was just to give in, but I'm quite stubborn and went on.Thanks God the second class was much better, they started talking about the different scenes and when I told them to write what the saw, to tell you the truth I expected just words but as you know children always surprise us.And viola! I could not believe my eyes! The wrote wonderful descriptions and they showed me they were completely in the game and living the adventure.
